Basic Life Saver

SUMMARY: 

This class is taught by Cody Synder who is an active Firefighter / para medic in Salt Lake.

Cody also manages the range and maintenance of the ready gunner building. 

He has countless real life stories and over a decade of experience in this field, is an excellent teacher and communicator. 

Join us for this class held in the ready gunner classroom with CPR dummies.

We will cover the following topics:

• High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  
• The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  
• Important early use of an AED
  
• Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  
• Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
  
• Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants
  
• Basic first aid
  
• Stop the bleed
  
• Active shooter medical response

Upon completion of all course requirements, participants receive a BLS Provider Course Completion Card which is valid for two years, along with a successful stop the bleed certificate, and the opportunity to purchase all supplies needed for an at-home first aid kit.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Saver course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED, along with basic first aid, and stop the bleed training.
