Community Class - Active Shooter Prevention

SUMMARY:

We have held a number of these classes over the last few years, discussion has largely been around school shootings, and other public shootings. some of these classes have had active law enforcement from west jordon, mesquite, and our local Orem PD. Others have had local school administrators. 

All of them have been helpful for identifying preventative measures and informing participants on how to prepare and react if something like this happens. 

Todd Nielsen and his team who work with Fightback Nation and have trained thousands of school employees, teachers, and administrators. 

At these events we try to bring community leaders, local police, parents and administrators to bring awareness, discuss prevention, and get details on what to do when these things happen. 

Discussion topics will also include:

• How to spot avenues of escape.
• Situational awareness.
• How to find positions of advantage.
• Concealment and cover.
• Suspicious behavior.
• Setting up a plan to get out of the bad situation
• Planning a meeting site for parents and children.
