- Learn how to move from room to room in a safe manner.
- Learn how to gather your family members to retreat to your designated safe area or escape from the threat.
- Review relevant Utah code related to home and personal defense.
- This is a classroom & range course.

PREREQUISITES: All participants must complete one of the courses listed below before taking this class or obtain approval by the instructor.
- Ready Gunner Handgun 1
- Highly Recommend: Ready Gunner Handgun 2 and/or NTAC Defensive Handgun 1
REQUIRED GEAR:
- Eye and ear protection
- Belt
- Holster and magazine carriers compatible with your pistol
- Minimum three magazines for pistol (more is recommended)
- Long pants
- Closed-toe shoes
- Knee and elbow pads
- At least 100 rounds of ammunition. You can choose to practice on the range with your rifle or pistol, but you cannot use both. Please being the correlating rounds to your weapon or purchase more in store.
- No SERPA-style holsters. (Serpa = Death)
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Close Quarters Battle or CQB is most closely associated with advanced military and law enforcement training; however, civilians will find that learning fundamental CQB skills will enhance their home defense strategies.
This course will provide you with core fundamentals of safe movement through a structure and consists of two modules:
Module 1: Classroom (1 Hour)
- begin by identifying safe areas in your home that could be used to protect yourself and your family
- learn how to move from room to room in a safe manner that would be useful for gathering your family members for retreat to your designated safe area or escape from the threat
- review relevant Utah code related to home and personal defense
Module 2: Range (2 Hours)
- implement what you learned in the classroom, potentially encountering shoot/no shoot scenarios as you move through simulated rooms and corridors.
