NRA Pistol basics Virtual/Blended Course

SUMMARY:

This class is the OFFICIAL certified NRA - (National Rifle Association) pistol basics  course and is designed to establish the fundamental techniques with your firearm.

The classroom portion of the training is provided through the NRA online course, called "e-learning". The range portion is completed inside the Ready Gunner range over a 2-3 hour time frame.  

This class will be performed by a certified NRA trainer.

For access the first portion of the "e-learning" you need to purchase the course here and you will be sent an access code to the NRA website where you will complete and need to pass the book work and NRA testing prior to completing the range portion of the course. 

If you don’t have a firearm and are looking to take this course, you can rent one at the range counter. Ready Gunner rounds must be used in all rental firearms.

Prior to selecting a date for the live fire range portion, be sure you will have ample time to complete the e-learning portion. You need to have completed and passed the e-learning portion prior to completing the Range portion. 

DESCRIPTION:

Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety.

Additionally, you will complete live fire training inside the range with the nationally standardized shooting qualifications while being supervised and instructed by our NRA Certified Instructor.

You will receive a NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, at completion you will receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

TIME COMMITMENT: approx 8 hours of book work (completed at your own pace on your own) and 2 - 3-hour of shooting in the range

SETTING: e-learning book work on your own and live fire in the range

Eye and Ear protection need to be worn at all times inside the range.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS FOR THE RANGE PORTION: 12

PREREQUISITES:

There are NO prerequisites to this course.

REQUIRED GEAR FOR THE LIVE FIRE:

• Handgun 
• Hearing Protection  
• Eye Protection 
• 100 Rounds of ammunition
• Casual dress, closed show shoes, T-shirt, preferably pants and a Sweat Shirt 

The firearms related items above may be rented or purchased in our store if needed.

WHAT’S NEXT:

After taking the course, participants will be prepared to take the Ready Gunner draw from the holster course.
